Xiaomi has started teasing the India and global arrival of the Xiaomi 18 Pro shortly after the flagship phone made its debut in China. The teaser confirms that the Pro model is headed to India, although Xiaomi has not yet announced the launch date or Indian price.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro stands out from many flagship phones with a secondary display on the rear panel. It also brings a new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, a large 7,000mAh battery and a camera setup built around two 200-megapixel sensors.
Launch
Xiaomi India has teased the Xiaomi 18 Pro on X, describing the phone as “coming soon.” The teaser shows the handset in a blue colour option and names the Xiaomi 18 Pro specifically.
That detail matters because Xiaomi has not confirmed the entire Xiaomi 18 lineup for India. For now, the Pro is the only model officially teased for the Indian market.
The phone was launched in China alongside the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max on September 23. Xiaomi has yet to reveal when Indian customers will be able to buy the device.
Display
The Xiaomi 18 Pro uses a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a 1,120×2,436-pixel resolution. It supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and can reportedly reach a peak brightness of 4,000 nits.
The more unusual feature sits on the back. Xiaomi has fitted the phone with a 2.7-inch AMOLED secondary screen. It has a 596×912-pixel resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits.
A rear screen can be useful for checking notifications, controlling certain functions and framing selfies with the main cameras. In other words, the rear panel is not just decorative – it can turn the phone’s powerful camera system into a more flexible selfie tool.
Performance
Powering the Xiaomi 18 Pro is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chipset. Xiaomi pairs it with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and as much as 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
The combination is aimed squarely at the premium flagship segment, where fast app loading, gaming performance and long-term multitasking have become major selling points.
On the software side, the phone runs Android 17-based HyperOS 4. The Indian version could have region-specific software differences, so the final configuration will be worth watching when Xiaomi announces the launch.
Cameras
Photography is another major focus of the Xiaomi 18 Pro. The phone has three rear cameras, including a 200-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation.
A second 200-megapixel sensor works as a periscope telephoto camera and also gets OIS. The setup is completed by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
For selfies and video calls, Xiaomi has equipped the phone with a 50-megapixel front camera. The rear display could also make the main camera system more useful for self-portraits, giving users a way to preview shots without relying entirely on the front camera.
Battery
The Xiaomi 18 Pro packs a 7,000mAh battery, which is substantial even by current flagship standards. It supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The phone also supports up to 27W wired reverse charging. That allows the handset to act as a power source for compatible accessories or other devices when required.
Battery capacity alone does not determine real-world endurance, of course. Display brightness, processor workload, camera use and network conditions will all affect how long the phone lasts between charges.
Connectivity
The connectivity package includes 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, USB Type-C and GPS. These specifications place the Xiaomi 18 Pro firmly in the current premium smartphone category.
The combination of Wi-Fi 7 and newer Bluetooth connectivity should also make the phone suitable for users who rely heavily on wireless accessories and fast home networks.
Price
In China, the Xiaomi 18 Pro starts at CNY 5,999, which converts to roughly Rs. 86,000. That price is for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration.
The 16GB + 1TB version is priced at CNY 8,999, equivalent to around Rs. 1.29 lakh. Xiaomi also offers a transparent 16GB + 1TB edition for CNY 9,999, or approximately Rs. 1.43 lakh.
These conversions should not be treated as Indian prices. Import duties, taxes, local pricing strategy and configuration differences can significantly change the final retail price.

India
The biggest unanswered question is the Indian price and launch date. Xiaomi’s teaser confirms that the Xiaomi 18 Pro is coming, but the company has not yet provided those details.
The India launch could also clarify whether all Chinese-market storage configurations and colour options will be offered locally. An earlier report had suggested a December arrival, but Xiaomi has not officially confirmed that timeline.
For Indian buyers, the rear AMOLED screen may be the phone’s most distinctive feature. Combined with the 200-megapixel primary and periscope cameras, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset and 7,000mAh battery, the Xiaomi 18 Pro has a specification sheet aimed at the high-end segment. The remaining pieces of the puzzle are the Indian launch date, configuration and final price.
