The handset has been teased by the company as a wider, passport-style foldable, while a new leak has reportedly revealed its internal name and several key specifications.
According to a report from Android Headlines, Motorola could internally be calling the upcoming device the Razr Flex. The reported specifications include a 6.92-inch foldable OLED display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, 12GB of RAM and a 5,000mAh battery.
Motorola has not officially confirmed these specifications, so the details should be treated as leaks until the company makes a formal announcement.
Design
The Motorola Razr Flex is expected to use a book-style folding design rather than the vertical clamshell format associated with the company’s existing Razr lineup.
Leaked concept renders based on reported sketches show a flat rear panel with a pill-shaped camera module positioned near the top. The power and volume controls are reportedly placed on the right side of the handset.
The phone is also expected to have a relatively thin profile when unfolded. Reported dimensions are 110 x 149 x 5.8mm when open and 110 x 76 x 12.6mm when folded. The handset is said to weigh approximately 215 grams.
Motorola previously teased the device on September 9, showing the silhouette of a new passport-style foldable. The teaser appeared to show a flat hinge and a visible crease running through the middle of the internal screen.
Display
The reported internal display is a 6.92-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1,728 x 2,364 pixels.
The screen could support a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, along with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ content. If confirmed, these features would position the display for both high-refresh-rate applications and video playback.
The external display is reportedly a 4.97-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1,736 x 1,140 pixels.
