BMW India has started accepting pre-bookings for the updated 7 Series luxury sedan and the all-electric i7. Customers can reserve either model through authorised BMW dealerships or the company’s official website ahead of their expected launch in the coming months.
The facelifted models introduce several design updates, a redesigned cabin with new technology, and improvements to both petrol, diesel and electric powertrains.
The updated BMW 7 Series and i7 were revealed globally earlier this year and are now set to arrive in India. The latest versions receive styling revisions, upgraded infotainment features and improved performance across the range.
Both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric variants benefit from the changes.
Design
The front of the updated sedan adopts a cleaner appearance while retaining BMW’s signature styling elements.
Key exterior highlights include:
- Illuminated kidney grille
- Redesigned split headlamp setup
- Slim upper daytime running lights
- New lower headlamp units positioned near the air curtains
- Slimmer LED tail lamps extending into the tailgate
- Smoked rear light elements with chrome detailing
- Hidden boot release, rear camera and washer nozzle
These updates give the flagship sedan a more refined and modern appearance.
Interior
BMW has introduced several technology upgrades inside the cabin.
The centrepiece is a new 17.9-inch infotainment touchscreen running the latest BMW Operating System. It is complemented by a 14.6-inch display for the front passenger.
Other interior highlights include:
- Full-width projected driver display at the base of the windscreen
- New four-spoke steering wheel
- Revised ambient lighting across the dashboard
- Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system with up to 18 speakers
- 31.3-inch 8K rear entertainment screen supporting streaming, video calls and gaming
The updated cabin places a stronger emphasis on digital technology and rear-seat comfort.
Engines
BMW has increased the output of both petrol and diesel versions.

The 740i gains 19 bhp and 60 Nm over the previous model, while the diesel version receives an increase of 27 bhp and 20 Nm.
Both continue to use a 3.0-litre inline-six mild-hybrid engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
Electric
The updated BMW i7 also receives notable improvements.
The previous rear-wheel-drive i7 50 eDrive has been replaced by the new i7 50 xDrive with all-wheel drive as standard.
Both electric variants now feature a larger 112.4 kWh battery, replacing the earlier 101.7 kWh unit.
