Tecno has launched the Spark Go 3 Pro in India, adding a new option to its budget smartphone lineup. The handset combines a large 6.78-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Helio G81 chipset and a 5,200mAh battery.
The phone also stands out for its IP68 and IP69 ratings, which provide protection against dust and water. It will be sold in two storage configurations and is scheduled to go on sale in India from September 4.
Price
The Tecno Spark Go 3 Pro starts at Rs. 15,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The higher-end version with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage costs Rs. 16,999.
The smartphone will be available through Amazon, Flipkart and other retail outlets. Buyers can choose from Burgundy Red, Eclipse Black, Mist Silver and Sunrise Orange colour options.
| Variant | Price |
|---|---|
| 4GB + 64GB | Rs. 15,999 |
| 4GB + 128GB | Rs. 16,999 |
Display
The Spark Go 3 Pro features a 6.78-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720×1,526 pixels. The panel uses a 20:9 aspect ratio and supports a 120Hz refresh rate.
Tecno also lists a peak brightness of up to 580 nits and a 240Hz instant touch sampling rate.
The higher refresh rate should make supported animations, scrolling and compatible games appear smoother than on conventional 60Hz panels. For a phone in this segment, the combination of a large screen and 120Hz refresh rate is one of its notable specifications.
Performance
The handset is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G81 4G chipset paired with a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.
It comes with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. Tecno also provides a virtual RAM expansion feature that can increase the available memory by up to 12GB using storage.
The phone runs Android 16 out of the box, giving it a relatively recent software platform at launch.
Cameras
For photography, the Tecno Spark Go 3 Pro has a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and autofocus.
The front camera is an 8-megapixel unit with an f/2.0 aperture and fixed focus. It is intended for selfies and video calls.
The camera setup is relatively straightforward, with the device focusing on its display, battery and durability features alongside everyday photography.
Durability
One of the more unusual features at this price point is the phone’s IP68 and IP69 ratings.
These ratings indicate protection against dust and water under the conditions specified by the relevant standards. The added protection could be useful for users who want a handset designed to handle more demanding everyday environments.
However, water resistance should not be interpreted as making the smartphone completely immune to liquid damage. Users should still follow Tecno’s guidance regarding exposure to water.
Features
The Spark Go 3 Pro includes an AI Voiceprint Noise Cancellation feature designed to reduce background noise during calls.
It also comes with an infrared sensor and IR remote functionality, allowing the phone to be used to control compatible household appliances.
For audio, the device has dual DTS speakers. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, OTG support and a USB Type-C port.
The biometric sensor is mounted on the side of the phone. Other sensors include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer and electronic compass.
Battery
The phone is equipped with a 5,200mAh lithium-ion polymer battery.
Charging is limited to 10W, and Tecno includes a compatible charger in the box. The relatively large battery capacity is aimed at providing extended everyday use, although actual battery life will vary depending on factors such as display settings, network conditions and usage.
The handset measures 168.32 x 79.22 x 8.04mm and weighs 194 grams.
Verdict
The Tecno Spark Go 3 Pro brings several features to the Indian market that may appeal to buyers looking for a large-screen budget smartphone. Its 120Hz display, IP68 and IP69 ratings, 5,200mAh battery and Helio G81 chipset form the core of its specification sheet.
Priced from Rs. 15,999, the phone is positioned between the entry-level and more affordable mid-range segments. Its two storage options also give buyers a choice based on their storage requirements. The smartphone will be available in India from September 4 through Amazon, Flipkart and other retail channels.
