Mahindra has expanded its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme to three electric SUVs, giving buyers another way to manage the upfront cost of purchasing an EV. The programme is now available across the BE 6 Sporteq, XEV 9S and XEV 9e, covering all variants of these models.
Under the BaaS structure, the vehicle and battery are financed separately. This lowers the initial vehicle price, while the battery cost is linked to usage. Mahindra has fixed the effective battery usage cost at Rs. 3.75 per km across all three models.
Programme
Mahindra first introduced the BaaS model with the updated BE 6. The company has now extended the programme to the XEV 9S and XEV 9e, making it available across all variants of the three electric SUVs.

With the BaaS option, the three Mahindra electric SUVs carry lower starting vehicle prices because the battery is financed separately.
The BE 6 Sporteq starts at Rs. 11.45 lakh, while the XEV 9S starts at Rs. 12.65 lakh. The XEV 9e has a starting price of Rs. 13.90 lakh.
