The MG Hector Tomahawk EV has begun reaching dealerships in India following its recent launch. The three-row electric SUV is available in both outright purchase and Battery as a Service (BaaS) formats, while test drives are expected to begin shortly.
MG Motor India has positioned the Hector Tomahawk EV as a practical electric SUV with multiple seating configurations, a large battery and a claimed driving range of more than 500km. Here is what buyers need to know about the new model.
Pricing
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV is priced at Rs. 19.50 lakh ex-showroom for an outright purchase.
MG also offers the SUV through its BaaS programme. Under the baseline BaaS arrangement, the vehicle is priced at Rs. 13.99 lakh, along with a battery usage charge of Rs. 4.9 per km.
This gives buyers two different ways to purchase the electric SUV. The outright option involves purchasing the vehicle and battery together, while the BaaS route lowers the initial vehicle price but adds a usage-based battery charge.
Dealerships
The Hector Tomahawk EV has now started arriving at dealerships. This is an important step following its launch, as potential customers will be able to see the SUV in person before making a purchase decision.
Test drives are also expected to begin shortly. Customers interested in the new electric SUV can use the opportunity to assess its size, seating arrangement, cabin layout and driving characteristics before booking one.
Design
The Hector Tomahawk EV retains the substantial proportions expected from a three-row SUV, while receiving several features specific to the electric version.
The exterior includes a full LED lighting setup, 18-inch tyres and dual-tone alloy wheels. It also gets dual-tone exterior finishes, along with MG’s signature daytime running light and headlamp module design.
The front section features a distinctive air intake, adding to the SUV’s visual differentiation.
Inside, the cabin gets a 15.6-inch central touchscreen paired with a nine-inch instrument cluster. Leatherette upholstery is also available, while rear passengers benefit from dedicated AC vents.
Space
One of the notable aspects of the Hector Tomahawk EV is its flexible seating configuration. Unlike a conventional five-seat SUV, the electric version is offered in both five- and seven-seat layouts.
Boot capacity varies according to how the seats are configured.

With all three rows occupied, the available 192-litre boot is relatively limited. Folding the third row increases usable luggage space, while the five-seat configuration provides 610 litres.
The maximum luggage capacity rises to 1,053 litres when the second row is folded.
Battery
The Hector Tomahawk EV uses a 69.2kWh LFP battery pack. LFP, or lithium iron phosphate, is a battery chemistry commonly used in electric vehicles and is known for characteristics such as durability and thermal stability.
The battery supplies power to a front-wheel-drive electric motor producing 201bhp and 301Nm of torque.
MG claims a driving range of 517km for the electric SUV. Actual range can vary depending on factors such as driving conditions, traffic, speed, weather and use of the air conditioning system.
Charging
The Hector Tomahawk EV supports both AC and DC charging.
The onboard AC charging capability is rated at 7.4kW, while DC fast charging is supported at up to 90kW. MG claims that using a compatible DC fast charger can replenish the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in around 35 minutes.
This charging capability is particularly relevant for longer journeys, where reducing charging stops can make an electric SUV more practical.
With dealership units now arriving and test drives expected soon, the MG Hector Tomahawk EV is moving into the next stage of its India launch. Its combination of a 69.2kWh LFP battery, 517km claimed range, three-row practicality and BaaS pricing gives buyers several factors to consider.
