TCL has expanded its smartphone and tablet lineup at IFA 2026 with the launch of the P80 series and Tab A1 family. The new range includes three smartphones and four tablets, with TCL focusing on camera capabilities, display comfort, battery life and productivity.
The P80 Ultra leads the smartphone lineup with a periscope telephoto camera, while the P80 Pro brings a 1.5K NXTPAPER AMOLED panel and a 5,800mAh battery. The Tab A1 series, meanwhile, offers 11-inch and 12.2-inch screen options in both standard and NXTPAPER versions.
Pricing
TCL said the P80 and Tab A1 series will be sold in selected markets. Prices, storage configurations, colour choices and launch dates will vary by country and sales channel. The company has not provided a single global price for the new devices.
P80 Ultra
The TCL P80 Ultra is positioned as the most advanced smartphone in the new P80 lineup. Its camera system is led by a 50-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto camera with optical and electronic image stabilisation.
The telephoto sensor is joined by a 50-megapixel main camera using a 1/1.56-inch sensor. The primary camera also supports optical and electronic image stabilisation. An 8-megapixel autofocus ultra-wide camera completes the rear setup.
For selfies and video calls, the phone includes a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. This combination gives the Ultra a stronger focus on photography, particularly for users who regularly shoot subjects from a distance.
P80 Pro
The TCL P80 Pro takes a different approach by putting greater emphasis on its display and battery. It features a 1.5K NXTPAPER AMOLED display, combining TCL’s NXTPAPER technology with an AMOLED panel.
The phone also carries a 5,800mAh battery, giving it a substantial power reserve for everyday use. TCL has not revealed every specification of the P80 Pro, so details such as its processor and full camera configuration remain limited.
The regular TCL P80 also features a 1.5K AMOLED display. However, TCL has yet to disclose complete details about its processor, cameras and battery capacity.
Tab A1
The standard TCL Tab A1 models come with 11-inch displays offering 2.1K resolution. The screens support refresh rates of up to 90Hz, while the tablets measure just 6.2mm thick.
For buyers looking for a larger display, the Tab A1 Plus models step up to a 12.2-inch panel. These tablets offer 2.4K resolution, a 3:2 aspect ratio and refresh rates of up to 120Hz.
The different screen sizes give TCL room to target both everyday tablet users and people who want more space for reading, documents and other productivity tasks.
NXTPAPER
TCL’s NXTPAPER variants are designed for users who spend long periods reading, studying or working on a tablet. The technology uses anti-glare and anti-reflection treatments to reduce distracting reflections on the screen.
It also includes hardware-level blue-light control and multiple display modes. On the Tab A1 Plus NXTPAPER, TCL adds a dedicated NXTPAPER Key that lets users quickly switch between Standard Mode, Color Paper Mode and Ink Paper Mode.
These options are intended to make the screen more adaptable to different types of content. A tablet used for watching videos, for example, can use a different display experience from one used primarily for reading.
Software
All four TCL Tab A1 tablets run Android 16 and come with Google services. TCL has also added its own productivity features and customisable gestures.
The gestures can provide faster access to applications, AI functions and the NXTPAPER interface. This gives the tablets a software layer designed around both general Android use and TCL’s display-focused features.
