Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 18 Fold in China as its latest book-style foldable smartphone, bringing a combination of large displays, flagship hardware and a Leica-backed camera system. The device follows the wider, more compact design trend seen in recent foldables, while Xiaomi has added its new Xring O3 chipset and a sizeable 6,000mAh battery.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold comes with a 5.38-inch outer screen and a 7.58-inch foldable inner display. It also supports 120Hz refresh rates on both panels, up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness and fast wired and wireless charging. Pre-orders are now open in China, with regular sales scheduled to begin later this month.
Price
The Xiaomi 18 Fold starts at CNY 10,999, which is roughly Rs. 10,39,900, for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant.
The 12GB + 512GB model is priced at CNY 11,999, while the 16GB + 512GB version costs CNY 12,999. The premium 16GB + 1TB configuration is listed at CNY 14,999.

The phone is offered in Black, Nishino Red and Warm Gold White. Xiaomi is also selling a Ceramic Special Edition with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage for CNY 15,999.
Display
The Xiaomi 18 Fold uses a 5.38-inch AMOLED cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Open the phone and users get a much larger 7.58-inch foldable AMOLED panel, also running at 120Hz.
Both screens can reach up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness. The inner display uses low-power Pol-less technology, which is designed to improve display efficiency while keeping the panel thin.
The outer screen is protected by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0, while the folding panel uses flexible ultra-thin glass. Together, the two displays give the phone a compact smartphone experience when closed and a tablet-like workspace when opened.
Performance
At the heart of the Xiaomi 18 Fold is the company’s 3nm deca-core Xring O3 AI flagship chipset. The processor is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and as much as 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
The highest-end configuration also uses LPDDR6 memory, giving Xiaomi a high-spec option for users who want maximum performance and storage in a foldable.
The phone runs Android 17-based HyperOS 4 out of the box. This software combination is expected to play an important role in making better use of the larger inner screen, particularly for multitasking and productivity.
Cameras
Photography is one of the main highlights of the Xiaomi 18 Fold. The foldable features a Leica-backed triple rear camera system led by a 200-megapixel primary sensor.
The main camera has an f/1.7 aperture, a 23mm equivalent focal length and optical image stabilisation. It is joined by a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.8 aperture, OIS, 3.5x optical zoom and 7x optical-quality zoom.
A 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with an f/2.4 aperture completes the rear setup. For selfies and video calls, Xiaomi has included 16-megapixel cameras on both the inner and outer displays.
Features
The Xiaomi 18 Fold includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock for security. Audio features include stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos and spatial audio support, while a three-microphone array is included for voice capture.
Connectivity covers dual Nano-SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and NFC. The device uses a USB Type-C port for wired connections and charging.
Durability is another area where Xiaomi has focused attention. The foldable carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance, adding protection that can be particularly useful for a device with a moving hinge and flexible display.
Battery
The Xiaomi 18 Fold packs a 6,000mAh battery, which is notable for a phone this thin. It supports 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Xiaomi says the device measures only 5.02mm when unfolded and 10.68mm when folded. Despite its large displays and battery, the phone weighs 219g.
That combination shows where modern foldables are heading: bigger screens without making the device excessively heavy or bulky. The real test, however, will be how the battery and performance hold up during extended use.
For now, the Xiaomi 18 Fold is available for pre-order in China, with sales due to begin later this month. Its international availability and pricing remain separate questions, so buyers outside China will need to wait for Xiaomi to announce whether the device will be sold in additional markets.
