Audi has revealed the facelifted Q4 e-tron for global markets, bringing a series of updates to its entry-level electric SUV.

Available in both SUV and Sportback body styles, the revised Q4 e-tron receives mild exterior changes, a more substantial cabin redesign, and efficiency improvements aimed at extending range and improving overall usability.

The Q4 e-tron continues to serve as Audi’s most accessible electric model in global markets, at least until the smaller A2 e-tron is expected to arrive later in 2026.

Design

The facelifted Q4 e-tron retains the familiar overall shape of the outgoing model, but Audi has introduced several styling revisions to sharpen its appearance.

At the front, the updated model gets new customisable LED daytime running lights along with Matrix LED headlamps. The grille is now finished in body colour and is framed by gloss black surrounds with silver detailing, giving the front end a cleaner and more contemporary look.

Audi has also revised the front bumper with functional air intakes designed to improve aerodynamic efficiency. These changes are subtle in appearance but contribute to better airflow management.

Along the sides, the Q4 e-tron carries forward its existing profile with strong shoulder lines, a silver beltline, and chrome window detailing. Buyers can also choose from five new alloy wheel designs, available in sizes ranging from 19 to 21 inches.

At the rear, both the SUV and Sportback variants share a similar design treatment. This includes connected OLED taillights, a contrasting lower bumper insert, and a revised skid plate design.

Cabin

The more significant updates are found inside the cabin, where Audi has introduced a noticeably revised dashboard layout and a new digital interface.

The facelifted Q4 e-tron now adopts a triple-screen layout. This includes an 11.9-inch digital instrument display, a 12.8-inch central infotainment touchscreen, and an optional 12-inch passenger display. Audi says this is the largest passenger screen currently offered in any of its production models.

The system can also be specified with an augmented reality head-up display, which projects navigation and driving information into the driver’s field of view.

Audi has removed the physical climate control buttons from the centre console. Climate functions are now integrated into the touchscreen interface, reflecting the broader industry shift toward software-based controls.

Layout

The cabin layout has also been revised for improved packaging and usability. Audi has redesigned the centre console, extending it into the armrest for a more integrated look and improved storage layout.

The steering wheel now uses roller-style controls combined with touch-sensitive inputs, replacing the more traditional switchgear seen earlier.

Boot space stands at 515 litres, which is slightly lower than before. With the rear seats folded, total luggage capacity increases to 1,487 litres.

Performance

Mechanically, the Q4 e-tron continues with the same 59 kWh and 77 kWh battery options, though Audi says efficiency has been improved through updates to the electric drivetrain.

A key change is the introduction of Audi’s newer APP350 electric motor on the rear axle. This updated motor is designed to improve efficiency and performance, with Audi claiming an overall gain of around 10 per cent in efficiency.

Rear-wheel-drive variants now produce up to 286 hp and 545 Nm of torque. Audi claims a maximum driving range of up to 592 km, depending on configuration.

All-wheel-drive versions produce up to 340 hp and offer a claimed range of up to 554 km.

Charging

Charging performance has also improved as part of the facelift.

The Q4 e-tron now supports DC fast charging at up to 185 kW. According to Audi, this allows the battery to charge from 10 to 80 per cent in 27 minutes under ideal conditions.

Audi also states that a 10-minute fast-charge session can add up to 185 km of range, which should improve convenience during longer trips.

These charging upgrades are particularly relevant as public fast-charging infrastructure continues to expand across key EV markets.

Practicality

The Q4 e-tron remains positioned as a practical premium electric SUV, and the facelift does not alter its core role in Audi’s lineup.

The SUV body style is aimed at buyers prioritising cabin space and a more conventional shape, while the Sportback offers a slightly more tapered roofline for those looking for a more coupe-like profile.

Despite the revised styling and digital-heavy interior, Audi has largely retained the Q4 e-tron’s emphasis on everyday usability, with competitive boot space, familiar proportions, and a relatively straightforward EV package.

Pricing

The facelifted Audi Q4 e-tron has been launched in Germany, where pricing starts at Euro 47,500 for the SUV and Euro 49,450 for the Sportback.

At current exchange rates, this translates to approximately Rs 52.55 lakh for the SUV and Rs 54.70 lakh for the Sportback, before taxes and market-specific costs.

India

Audi has not yet confirmed launch plans for the facelifted Q4 e-tron in India.

If introduced, the Q4 e-tron would likely become Audi’s most accessible electric vehicle in the Indian market. At present, Audi does not retail an EV in India, which leaves room for the Q4 e-tron to serve as an entry point into the brand’s electric range.

With updated styling, a more modern cabin, and improved efficiency, the facelifted Q4 e-tron strengthens Audi’s position in the premium compact EV segment while retaining its role as a practical everyday electric SUV.
