Tata Motors has introduced the Curvv Series X in India with prices starting at Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new range replaces the standard Curvv lineup and is positioned by the company as an “Xtra” value-focused version of the coupe-SUV.
The Series X continues with the Curvv’s existing petrol and diesel powertrains, while Tata Motors has made changes to equipment, interior finishes, and rear-seat comfort. With six variants available, buyers have several options depending on their preferred features and budget.
Variants
The Tata Curvv Series X is offered in six variants: Smart X, Pure X, Pure X+, Creative+ X, Accomplished X, and Accomplished+ X.
The lineup covers a broad range of equipment levels, with higher variants adding features such as larger alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and upgraded interior materials.
The Curvv Series X is available in Pristine White, Pure Grey, Nitro Crimson, and Opera Blue. The Dark Edition gets an Obsidian Black exterior finish.
Features
The Pure X variant comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, four speakers and two tweeters, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, and cruise control.
Other equipment includes an HD reverse parking camera, smart key with push-button start, front and rear USB charging ports, an intelligent tyre pressure monitoring system, and Eco, City, and Sport drive modes.
Safety equipment includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, hill-hold control, reverse parking sensors, and three-point seatbelts for all occupants.
The variant also gets all-LED lighting, illuminated flush door handles, a shark-fin antenna, a rear spoiler, and 17-inch Hyperstyle wheels.
Interiors
The Pure X+ builds on the equipment of the Pure X with several additions aimed at improving comfort and appearance.
It gets a Lalitpur Grey interior theme, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, rear air-conditioning vents, a rear armrest with cup holders, and Tata’s “R-Comfort” seats.
Customers can also choose a Plushlux leatherette package. It includes Benecke-Kaliko Oyster White leatherette seats along with leatherette finishes on the steering wheel, gear knob, and armrest.
The Pure X+ is also available in a Dark Edition. This version features black 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and an Obsidian Black treatment for the seats and several interior touchpoints.
Equipment
The Creative+ X variant adds more technology and convenience features.
It comes with 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, dual-tone paint, a panoramic sunroof, and a 360-degree camera with a blind-spot monitor. The dashboard gets dual 10.25-inch screens, while front parking assist provides additional support when manoeuvring.
Other features include rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, LED fog lamps with cornering functionality, and a rear defogger.
Inside, the variant receives leatherette finishes for the e-shifter and paddle shifters. The rear seats offer a reclining function and a 60:40 split configuration. Moulded door trims with leatherette inserts and height-adjustable front seatbelts are also included.
Powertrains
The Curvv Series X retains the existing engine range rather than introducing a new powertrain.
Buyers can choose between a 1.2-litre Revotron turbo-petrol engine, a 1.2-litre T-GDi Hyperion petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre Kryojet diesel engine.
Transmission choices include a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which Tata Motors refers to as DCA.
This means the Series X focuses primarily on equipment, comfort, and positioning while retaining the mechanical options already associated with the Curvv.
Comfort
Tata Motors has also made changes to the rear seating area.
The front seat-back has been made 10mm slimmer using shell-foam construction. Tata has also moved the rear seat 20mm backward and 10mm lower.
These changes are intended to improve the amount of usable space and the overall second-row seating experience. For a coupe-SUV, where the sloping roofline can influence rear-seat practicality, improvements in this area can be particularly relevant to buyers who regularly carry passengers.
The cabin has also received richer materials and leatherette upholstery on selected variants, giving the interior a more premium appearance.
Positioning
With the Series X replacing the standard Curvv range, Tata Motors is using the new lineup to reorganise the coupe-SUV’s variant structure while adding equipment and comfort enhancements.
The starting price of Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) places the Curvv Series X at a competitive point in the Indian SUV market. However, the exact value proposition will depend on the features offered at each variant and the price difference between them.
The new lineup also gives buyers a choice between more affordable versions and higher-spec models equipped with features such as a panoramic sunroof, larger wheels, dual screens, and a 360-degree camera.
