Honda Cars India is set to launch the facelifted Elevate in India on October 6, 2026. The updated compact SUV is expected to receive styling changes, cabin upgrades and additional features as Honda looks to strengthen its position in India’s competitive midsize SUV segment.
The Elevate competes with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Nissan Tekton, Kia Seltos and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. While Honda has not revealed the complete list of updates, the facelift is expected to follow a relatively mild update strategy rather than introducing major mechanical changes.
Design
The 2026 Elevate facelift is likely to receive revisions to its front and rear sections while retaining the overall proportions and basic design of the existing SUV.
Expected changes could include a redesigned grille, revised front and rear bumpers, tweaked lighting elements and a new set of alloy wheels. Honda could also revise the exterior colour palette as part of the update.
These changes would give the Elevate a fresher appearance without substantially altering its overall design. The approach is similar to a conventional mid-cycle facelift, where manufacturers refresh selected styling and equipment rather than developing an entirely new vehicle.
Interior
The cabin could see several technology and comfort upgrades.
Honda’s recently updated City received a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument console, revised upholstery, a 360-degree camera and ventilated front seats. Some of these features could also appear in the facelifted Elevate.
The updated SUV could receive revisions to its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as well. However, Honda has not yet confirmed the exact specification.
These additions would bring the Elevate’s cabin more in line with newer competitors, many of which already offer increasingly comprehensive technology and convenience features.
Features
The feature list will be an important part of the Elevate facelift’s appeal.
A larger touchscreen and digital instrument cluster could provide a more modern interface, while a 360-degree camera would make parking and manoeuvring easier.
Ventilated front seats are another possible addition, following their availability on the updated City.
Some features offered by rivals remain uncertain. A panoramic sunroof and electrically adjustable front seats are available on competing SUVs, but Honda has not confirmed whether these features will be added to the facelifted Elevate.
The final equipment list is therefore expected to be one of the key details revealed around the launch.
Engine
The facelift is expected to retain the existing 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine.
The engine is likely to continue with six-speed manual and CVT transmission options. The reported output of 126bhp and 253Nm is also expected to remain unchanged.
This suggests Honda is concentrating on design, technology and equipment upgrades rather than making significant changes to the mechanical package.
Retaining the current powertrain would also allow Honda to refresh the SUV without substantially changing its underlying mechanical setup. Buyers should therefore expect the facelift to feel more like an equipment and styling update than a performance overhaul.
Rivals
The midsize SUV market has become increasingly competitive, with established models facing newer products with extensive feature lists.
The Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara remain important competitors, while the Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Tata Sierra add further choices for buyers.
Honda’s facelifted Elevate will need to compete on several fronts, including styling, equipment, safety, practicality and pricing.
Additional cabin technology and comfort features could help the updated SUV remain relevant, particularly as buyers increasingly compare vehicles based on features as well as engine and driving characteristics.
