Tata Tiago EV Gets a 2026 Update – What Each Variant Really Offers

Tata Motors has updated the Tiago EV for 2026, quietly strengthening its position in India’s entry-level electric vehicle segment. The update focuses on feature realignment, refreshed styling options, and clearer variant differentiation rather than mechanical changes. Prices for the revised Tiago EV start at Rs. 4.69 lakh under Tata’s Battery-as-a-Service (Baas) scheme, while the outright purchase price begins at Rs. 6.99 lakh, ex-showroom.

The Tiago EV continues with the same battery options and powertrains as before, but the feature distribution across variants has been revised. With three trims on offer, Smart, Pure+, and Creative, Tata is aiming to cater to a broader set of buyers, from first-time EV users to those seeking a more feature-rich city car.

The 2026 Tiago EV is offered with two battery packs. The smaller 19.2kWh unit delivers a claimed range of 226km, while the larger 24kWh battery is rated for up to 285km. These are referred to as MR (Medium Range) and LR (Long Range) versions, respectively.

In terms of output, the MR variant produces 60bhp and 110Nm of torque, while the LR variant generates 74bhp and 114Nm. These figures remain unchanged from the outgoing model and are aligned with urban usage, prioritising smooth acceleration and predictable performance rather than outright speed.

Tata Motors has confirmed that its first drive review of the updated Tiago EV will go live on 8 June at 11 AM.

Design

While the overall shape and proportions of the Tiago EV remain familiar, Tata has refreshed the colour palette. The 2026 model is now available in six exterior shades: Pristine White, Daytona Grey, Pangong Pulse, Sobo Surge, Pure Grey, and Dehradun Dew.

These new colour options are intended to give buyers more personalisation choices without altering the core design. Higher variants add visual upgrades such as LED lighting elements and styled wheels, while lower trims retain a simpler appearance.

The Tiago EV is offered in three variants: Smart, Pure+, and Creative. Each variant builds on the previous one, adding features related to comfort, convenience, infotainment, and safety.

Smart

The Smart variant serves as the entry point to the Tiago EV range. Despite being the base trim, it includes several essential features that are increasingly expected in modern cars.

Key highlights include a redesigned dashboard, a two-spoke steering wheel, fabric seat upholstery, and improved under-thigh support for the front seats. The cabin layout is functional and uncluttered, aimed at ease of use.

Safety equipment is a strong point, with six airbags offered as standard, along with ABS with EBD, iTPMS, and reverse parking sensors. The Smart variant also features a digital instrument cluster, City and Sport drive modes, and multi-mode regenerative braking with a dedicated selector. Automatic climate control and connected car technology via Tata’s iRA system are also part of the package.

Pure+

The Pure+ variant adds a layer of convenience and infotainment features over the Smart trim. The most noticeable upgrade is the eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Audio is handled by a four-speaker setup, adequate for everyday use. Additional features include a reverse parking camera, day and night inside rear-view mirror, rear defogger, and follow-me-home headlamps.

The Pure+ variant also gains electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, Type-C charging ports, all four power windows, and a shark-fin antenna. Externally, it continues with 14-inch steel wheels, now fitted with wheel covers for a more finished look.

Creative

At the top of the range is the Creative variant, which introduces a noticeable jump in both technology and comfort. On the outside, it gets LED headlamps and DRLs, along with styled 14-inch steel wheels.

Inside, the Creative variant features a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a soft-touch fabric armrest. Safety and driver assistance features are expanded to include a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, ESP with traction control, and hill-hold control.

Convenience features include automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, auto-folding ORVMs, and an electric tailgate release. The cabin also benefits from a cooled glovebox, rear parcel tray, rear AC vents, and a six-way adjustable driver seat. A front armrest with storage further improves long-distance comfort.

Battery and Performance

The battery options remain consistent across the range, with buyers able to choose between MR and LR versions depending on their usage needs. The MR variant is aimed at city-centric driving, while the LR version offers added flexibility for longer trips between charges.
