Vivo appears to be preparing another version of the V80 Lite, and this model could stand out from the recently launched variant in Pakistan. The Malaysian version has been listed for pre-order with a much larger 10,000mAh battery, along with a different design and several upgraded specifications.
The phone is scheduled to launch in Malaysia on September 3 and will be offered in three memory configurations. Vivo has not yet disclosed every specification, but the pre-order listing confirms several key features, including an OLED display, a Sony-branded 50-megapixel primary camera and IP68 and IP69 protection.
Pricing
The Vivo V80 Lite is currently available for pre-order through Vivo’s Malaysia website ahead of its September 3 launch.
The listing carries a placeholder price, so the final Malaysian pricing has not yet been confirmed. Vivo is offering the phone in three configurations: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, 6GB RAM with 256GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage.
Buyers can choose between Pink, Green and Black colour options.
The pre-order window is scheduled to remain open until the end of the day before the official launch. Vivo is also offering customers a chance to win a V80 Lite and receive exclusive vouchers as part of the pre-booking campaign.
Battery
The 10,000mAh BlueVolt battery is the biggest feature of this Malaysian V80 Lite.
A battery of this size is considerably larger than the 7,050mAh unit found in the V80 Lite sold in Pakistan. The larger capacity could make the Malaysian model particularly interesting to users who prioritise battery endurance and spend long periods away from a charger.
Vivo has not yet revealed all charging details for this version, so it is too early to determine how quickly the large battery can be replenished.
Still, the move gives the V80 Lite a clear point of difference in a market where battery capacity has become an increasingly important smartphone specification.
Display
The Malaysian V80 Lite is confirmed to feature a 1.5K OLED display. Vivo has not yet disclosed the full panel specifications, including its refresh rate and screen size.
The display therefore represents another area where the Malaysian model could differ from the version launched in Pakistan.
For comparison, the Pakistan model features a 6.83-inch curved AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Whether the Malaysian phone matches those specifications remains unclear based on the current pre-order information.
Cameras
The Malaysian model will feature a 50-megapixel primary camera using a Sony sensor. It will also have a 32-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
Vivo has not provided complete details about the rear camera setup or the supporting sensors. The camera specifications that have been revealed suggest that the company is positioning the phone as more than just a battery-focused device.
The final camera capabilities will become clearer once Vivo publishes the complete specifications following the Malaysian launch.
Protection
The phone is confirmed to carry IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
These ratings indicate that the device has been designed to withstand demanding environmental conditions. However, users should still follow Vivo’s instructions regarding water exposure and avoid assuming that water resistance makes the phone suitable for every type of liquid or situation.
The inclusion of both ratings adds another practical feature to a device already focused heavily on durability and battery capacity.
Differences
The Malaysian V80 Lite looks considerably different from the V80 Lite launched in Pakistan.
The Pakistan model itself had a close relationship with the Vivo S2 sold in India, with both devices featuring a 7,050mAh battery. The Pakistan V80 Lite was equipped with a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo processor, 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage.
It also featured a 6.83-inch 120Hz curved AMOLED display and a rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, it used a 32-megapixel front camera.
The Pakistan version supported 44W wired charging and used a 7,050mAh battery.
The Malaysian model, by comparison, brings a substantially larger 10,000mAh battery, a 1.5K OLED display and IP68 and IP69 protection. Vivo has not yet confirmed its processor, charging technology or complete camera setup.
Availability
The Malaysian Vivo V80 Lite is already listed for pre-order and is scheduled to officially launch in the country on September 3.
The three storage configurations give buyers different options depending on their requirements. The 8GB+256GB model offers the highest memory and storage combination, while the 6GB+128GB version is expected to serve as the entry configuration.
Vivo has not yet confirmed whether this particular 10,000mAh version will be launched in other markets, including India. For now, its availability appears focused on Malaysia.
The new Vivo V80 Lite is notable mainly because of its unusually large 10,000mAh battery and the fact that it differs substantially from the Pakistan model carrying the same name.
